BT 5 still has alot of bugs , next update will be my choice :)
Impressive
@BlueShark: Thanks!
@MaXoNe: I haven't experienced any bugs myself, although I would expect there to be some, considering it's so new.
My only comment is I liked the 4r2 graphic better....
I thought BT4 had SET too? So it's not a new feature... <.<
@D0WNGRADE: You are correct that BT4 has SET, but if I remember correctly, it doesn't have the web framework, only the CLI version. I haven't used BT4 in a while though, so I might be making this up.
i wish someone would compile a list of just what tools are on there, and link to any documentation/sites are applicable, so people can get to know the tools before diving into the OS, and not knowing what shit does/is. i'm sure if i googled each one i'd find something, but it'd be great if it was all in one place. maybe somebody's done it, i don't know.
@Necr0sys We must have some type of psychic connection! I was thinking this a few weeks back, and started to do just that. I'm going topic by topic, tool by tool, and explaining what it does and some example commands to use it with. It's a pretty big task, so if anyone is interested in helping my, just shoot me an email at kevin |at| technology-flow.com. I'm currently about halfway done with the "Forensics" section.
By the way, I'm thinking of calling it "Backtrack: The Complete Walkthrough". Maybe I should turn it into a Megaprimer-type video series :)
@TechnologyFlow I'd definitely watch it.
@TechnologyFlow A Megaprimer series would be AWESOME!
Thanks guys! It's great to hear that people would appreciate it. It's going to happen in 2 phases: the first phase is to get everything written down in text, almost like a Backtrack manual. The next phase would be to demonstrate what the manual has, but in video form. Currently, I'm not even close to done with phase 1 :/
Right now, I'm working on the "Forensics" tab, but I'm almost done with the section. It's really time consuming, and I've spent over 10 hours on just the Forensics tab, and it's one of the smaller sections!
So what I'm getting at is I would really appreciate if anyone gave any type of help, even if it's very little; every bit help. If you can help, just send me an email at kevin |at| technology-flow.com. I'll give you all the information you'll need, plus you'll get a sneak peak ;). Also, could you guys do me a favor and try spreading the word? I need to enlist as much help as possible on this one :) Thanks again everyone,
-Kevin
